Just got my 90-91 JDP CF front lip. Thier site says that the lip utilizes the stock mounting hardware. Mine came with no mounting holes. How would i install? I searched the site and googled. I no alot of people on this site have this lip, so some one should no whats up. I can get pictures of the lip if anyone would like to see what im talkin about.
Thanks
drill the holes with a power drill. Its not that hard.
Yes, you will have to line up the lip to your bumper and then drill holes.
The reason why they do not predrill holes is for installation flexibility.
Once holes are drilled, you use your OEM hardware to install.
Hope that helps and becareful when drilling. That is what they would tell you anyway.
That helps alot. Thanks.
use self tapping screws. i know me , Mike(DaJellie) and a few others used this method, is way easier to line it up and drive a self tapper in there than drill a hole and use bolts and nuts.
Taking off the front bumper help a ton also.
BTW How much did you pick this lip up for?
Yea taking off the bumper would guarentee a perfect fit, but i have a buddy with a rotary lift im goin thier today so i shouldn’t have a problem doing it like that. I spent 300 on it. Thats why i was kinda upset that I had to put the mounting holes in myself, but its not that big of a deal.
why would you try and line up the holes with the bumper? then you cant mark anything.
Why not take the old lip off, and place it atop of the JDP one and mark your holes that way?

Because, and OEM piece and a non OEM piece will never fit the same.
im tellin ya, use the self-tappers. it was alot easier
and don’t forget to post pics when you’re done… :whisper:
btw, mine didnt fit 100%, i couldnt get one corner over the corner of the bumper so i had to trim the bumper plastic a little.
I got it on last night. I forgot I had another front bumper at my friends house, so I went and got that, put the lip on it, made some marks with a paint pen, drilled the holes and mounted it. Fits Dam good. Ill post some pics in a little bit. Thanks for all the advice everyone.
