Hellooo.
many of you may know my teg already.
well today i recieved in the mail my hiro reissue i ordered a week ago.
Ups took a long time to ship it because of thanksgiving
for those of you coming to the Legg lake meet in el monte dec 15 you will be able to see the wing in person!
it came with 4 brackets.
it has some cracks in it just like teg youngins jasper teg.
looking for ways to repair it before i get it color matched painted to my car this weekend.
any info on how would be appreciated.
wing does feel poorly made but i already knew that before buying.
well here are some pics.
tell me what you think.
also im not going to be having it on my teg constantly because i use my car as my daily driver and dont want nothing happening to the wing itself.
The big ass box it came in. all the white stuff fell out:/
came wrapped very well and happy with the shipper thanks @stubbyda91 !!
***please dnt mind the dirty teg. i worked everyday for 12 hrs even weekends because of the season and i have no time to clean my car. i know right. bad owner !
Fiberglass repair is what I do… And if I recall, this is a two-piece wing (versus the original Hiro, which was one piece)…
Having issues with the flange (where the two pieces meet) is very common. There are ways to avoid that, but that lies within the actual mold itself… Can’t do much to fix that now.
That said, I would recommend using the 3M product MarGlass. It is like Bondo in the sense that you mix it together with a hardener and spread it on… What is different about MarGlass though, is that there is strands of fiberglass in it, therefore it is much stronger and adheres much better than bondo.
I’d take a chisel or screwdriver and chip all of the loose material off (or else it will continue to crack after its painted)… then sand with some 180gritt sandpaper… the idea is to scuff up the surface so the MarGlass has something to ‘grab’ on to.
After scuffing… mix up and spread the material. Try to keep it as smooth as possible as this stuff is NOT easy to sand. So don’t build it up like crazy.
Once it has hardened, sand it down and shape it as it should be. You’ll probably end up doing two or three runs of MarGlass… Once you’re used to it, you can get things done with one go…
After that, it’s prime and paint.
If you’re not handy, or confident, I’m sure the body shop that is doing the paint work can handle the repair… Just as I said, don’t let JoeBob use bondo because it WILL crack again. That’s why it’s cracking in the first place.
All that being said, it looks good… and will look even better once its all said and done. Best of luck sir, keep us updated.

Thanks man! I will definitely look into this method this weekend when i start the process on the wing.!
No worries. The best way would be to re-glass it… but if you aren’t familiar with it, you’ll do more damage than good.
And when you use a chisel/screwdriver don’t PRY so hard that you separate the wing, or cause damage… Just get the crap that’s cracking off of there.
Yea im tryna not to damage and pry it apart. Ill be very careful. !
