K&N vs Spectre Air Filters.

I have an AEM CAI on my 91 GS.
Which Filter would I gain more hp from?
Also, I heard K&N Air Filters cause problems with the MAF sometimes, is this common on Tegs as well?

Integra’s don’t have MAF.

even if it did, i believe those were only caused because owners over-oiled their K&N filters when they cleaned em, and fouled up the sensor.

It is extremely hard to mess up the MAF with the oil. If you have seen a MAF, the actual sensor is pretty hidden in the casing. Only thing visible is IAT sensor. And I should know since my car has a MAF sensor and I have used K&N drop in filter with no issues.

doesn’t the maf sensor sit right in the middle of the airstream in 96+ gm’s? i’ve heard of the over-oiling problem in those types of cars. i don’t remember. haven’t checked the tahoe recently. as far as the question goes… spectre has turned things around imo. it has always been a good source for hotrod odds and ends. i would stick with k&n because it is proven quality.

E46’s have their MAF right at the front of the intake arm. its pretty fragile…

MAF sensor sits in the middle of the air stream on the 3 as well.

Here is a pic of the MAF on a 3.

People often make the mistake in thinking that the golden ball thing visible is the MAF sensor when it is not. The MAF sensors are hidden away inside the vertical plastic tube.

But the question still remains.
Spectre or K&N?

Neither. AEM dryflow.

dryflow>K&N>spectre

right now i have a K&N drop in because i have a stock intake.
