also, how much did it end up running you?
Thanks for all the positive comments! I dont have any plans for it at the moment besides driving it but i promise there will more pictures sometime soon. Should be back on the track for labor day. Hopefully il be able to rent a trailer and not have to worry about breaking anything lol. Also, some friends might be going to a drag strip this weekend or next and that should be fun cuz i never tried it.
so glad i didnt get a sti haha
how much did the whole k20 swap windup being in the end all said and done?
The Type R motors are around 5k at the jdm shops around here and all the swap parts should be another 3k.
For now im running 215-45-16 hankook rs-2 with 16x8 +38et rpf-1.
Man its a small world. I think my friend snaped a few nice pics of his car.
does your hood close with no problems?
No problems with the hood clearance, i think its about 15mm with the bracing still in place.
The oil pan is a different story thoughā¦

dry sump to the rescue!
lol, i wish
Yo abs long time no talk. Hows the car running? I gotta ask you how big is the bore on your throttle body?
Im having a fuel delivery issue at the moment. Havent had time to figure out what the problem is. Its 62 or maybe 62.5 iirc the type r and type s tbs are the same size
Not much has happened since my first post. I redid the amber corner lightsā¦and thats about it. Went to a drag strip last thursday and had some fun but im mostly looking forward to a track day planned for the first week of september.
Snapped a few pictures today
Have fun bleeding those brake lines, maybe you donāt understand gravity but they should never be above the level of your reservoir, a small amount of air is always going to remain in the high point!!
And fix your belts you would never get on any track if I was teching with that mess, spinal compression will get you!
Also that bomb hanging from your rear strut tower bar needs to be mounted properly.
If you are going to track your car safety equipment are your friends donāt make them your foes.

he knows about the brakesā¦its in the brake line tuck threadā¦
since im hear what kind of exhaust is that?
home made or what? i like
Iām pretty sure youād remove that bottle on a track day, but even I wouldnāt have it like that on the street.
As for the belts, itās by far the stupidest things that can be done. I think thereās a company that makes a harness that is supposed to work properly by mounting it to that rear seatbelt point that youāre using? Would I use it? No, my spine is worth much more to me.
All in all, great looking build. Iām glad to see that someone is making real use out of it rather than expecting stupidly high 1/4 mile times because itās a k-series. I track an '07 Si. The scoobies have nothing on me in the twisties nor do the e92 m3ās.

lolol I donāt understand gravity? Perhaps you donāt understand hydraulic systems. Iām not too worried about gravity bleeding as I use a pressure bleeder. Anyhow, its been mentioned that I do plan on redoing themā¦
Thanks for the safety tips but donāt worry Iām not suicidal and donāt plan on going to a track with the car the way you seen in those picsā¦
If you have any tips/tricks/advice/whatever to offer Iām more than willing to listen/discuss/try em out. All I ask is that you make an effort do it without the condescending attitude. Thanks

Iām not a much of a welder so I had a local shop piece it together. The muffler is a magnaflow and it makes one helluva buzzy sound. Glad you like it.

Yeah I read enough sportcompact car as a kid to know about the seatbelt problem. I just threw them in there for the heck of it but still use the oem 3 point and will continue to until I get a proper harness bar made. The extinguisher is simply there because I redid a fuel hose before taking it for a spin that day.
I have seen a few FG2s at the track and was very surprised. They look kinda heavy but Im guessing that isnāt the case? Also looks like you can fit huge tires underneath them. Beating up on scoobies and m3
s is always the highlight of a track day lol
dont worry man, DB2-R81 is the definitive answer to everything track cars and boy, does he let everyone know how much more he knows about track cars and racing practicality as often as he can.
he knows SO much, that when he assumes someone is practicing a bad habit, he MUST point it out and show how much more awesome he is than you are.
the dude is a nit-picky internet drama machine. i bet you could even have a dedicated track car built by a dedicated race car shop and he would still find a flaw in the design.
its called validation, some people dont get enough of it in their real lives, so they use the anonymity of the internet to condescend people to help validate themselves
this would not be the case if Mr R81 actually offered a solution to his gripes instead of just telling people how wrong they are all the time, and leaving it at that.
just because you have a car that you take to a race track doesnt make you the almighty answer to everything about track cars. just because youve spent more time and money than most practical people would on a 20 year old car doesnt make you the definitive voice on everything track cars.
as a matter of fact, it almost makes you out to be a huge tool, and only because of how much you talk down to people like they are morons.
not everyone has a car they can take to the track all the time, not everyone has the ability to spend a lot of time and money on said track car. not everyone is as experienced as others.
just because you think you know more about something than someone else doesnt give you the right to talk to them like they are beneath you.
You are better of getting a K24A from a Honda Accord because they are wayy cheaper in my honest opinion. Why waste so much money on a K20A from an RSX. The price difference varies but what H-Motors Online quote me is $5300(K20A RSX) vs $800(K24A Accord). Which one will you choose.
the one that doesnt drive like a truck motor.
the one that comes with a transmission, ECU, all sensors, cables, and wire harness.
the one that can safely rev to 8k without internal upgrades.
the one that has been proven to be a potent, reliable high strung motor.
in other words, not the cheap one because it wont be cheap once its finally in your car, and then its just a POS accord motor once you do. why not spend the money up front so you dont have to scramble to spend it later, and on shit you didnt want in the first place.
the motorās already in there. and iām sure heās happy with it. i know iād be.
nice g2. very nice indeed
