Key Locks!!?!!????

The other night someone tried to break into my car and jammed a screwdriver or something into my key lock! Now it looks like a big hole! Does anyone know how or if i can fix this without having to get another key???

BUMP^

to insure that it won’t happen again:
-get an alarm installed on your car (thus you can lock/unlock the doors with the alarm remote)
-buy a set of 4dr rear door handles. They have no key hole in them. You can install them in your front doors. They will look better because the lack of key hole, and no one can stick a screw driver in it again.

actually, this only works if you have power locks though.

How much are the 4 door rear handles from the dealer and do they come painted already or do they only come in RS style?

That is a great idea!

But i know that a lock has several i guess you would say layers to it.

there is a ring then there is a flat piece that looks like a washer only it has a small vertical cut in it where the key fits into i am wondering if there is anywhere other than acura itself that i could buy that one piece to replace it! But i am now realizing that acura is probably the only thing i can do! Thanks alot to everyone!

my best advice is to go to a salvage yard that specializes in honda/acuras, buy a lock cylinder cheap, and have it rekeyed for about 10 bucks at a locksmith. They are pretty easy to remove. My car had a different key for the drivers door than any of the other locks or ignition. I took it out and a locksmith rekeyed it for 8 bucks

You should be able to go to Acura (or a wrecker) and buy a lock, then take it to a locksmith who can change the pins in it so that it works with your key

I did that with an ignition lock for my other car, it came from the manufacturer disassembled, and then cost next to nothing to get it fixed
