kit fitment issue

i have a 90-91 RS front, its fiberglass i bought it from somone last week, it was never mounted or painted but it did sit around for a few years…

the kit

the problem NO ITS NOT JUST POPED OUT, like it looks, its rubbing

sooo it lines up pretty good overall, just on the side the kit is to small. Maybe some sanding or fileing could help…I didnt want to force it since i was just test fitting, and it is fiberglass

any suggestions welcome

TIA

BUMP, mite have to move it to general since no one reads this forum

I dont know a lot about fiberglass and its capabilities, but this is a thought.

You could use a torch and heat up the inside of the part that is flaring out. While applying the heat, pull it towards the way it is supposed to go. so it will pull that end in more to where it is supposed to go. just an idea. I dunno if fiberglass reacts like that to heat, like plexiglass does.

Can you use a couple of pop rivets to hold the cover to the stock one?

nah mang, its not how it looks i shoulda took a pic from inside the wheel well, its rubbing, not just warped and pokeing out, the kit just isnt wide enough

as for the torch i would have to research that a little more…im thinking just sand the **** outta it, and force it a bit
