koni oranges on a da9?

alright guys so i am in the market for struts/shocks. i am stuck in between koni str.t oranges and skunk 2 sports. i already considered yellows but those are out of my budget at the moment. so im not going to save for them right now even though club integra has them on sale right now…i wouldn’t have enough for yellows when i get paid and thats every 2 weeks. so anyway i know the oranges are non adjustable and will require eg/dc front forks but thats alright with me i already got some priced. my question is do you guys think this will work? i don’t want to hear “do it right the first time” i already know that. but i want to be clear that i don’t want yellows right now mainly cause the budget does not allow and will not allow until im at least 18(5 months from now) and can get i better job (i dont even make minimum wage and it just wont happen)haha. so is it worth it? please be understanding of my situation. atleast im not trying to ride on ebay coils and stuck struts i just wanna have a decent setup not the best. thanks guys

well im open to suggestions i just dont really want to hear yellows again haha i know i know. anyhow, i think im gonna go with the s2 over the oranges. i hear the oranges are like oe replacements:sad: so what do you guys think? michigan roads suck especially around detroit on 94 but im not one of those kids who want to be dumped. i like stance and all but im not doing that on the da since its my dd. i just dont know guys im finding mixed reviews on both…

Wait 5 months.

How much are the Koni SRT on sale for?

265 shipped and the skunk 2 sports are 280 which makes me worry but I read a little about the oranges and apparently there more stock like and can’t handle crazy drop though that’s not what I want but I want to be moderately lowered. Iust kind of want to know what may be better of the two but the oranges arent made specifically for da9s so I was curious if anyone has tried out a set with the dc forks man and mooshie ok thanks man

alright guys since im only really in the market for something that will maybe lower my car just a slight bit and be a little stiffer…i think im just gonna go with tokico blues im get a whole used set that looks to be in good condition for 160. is this really an oe replacement ive heard both. not one saying its a sport shock necessarily but, ive heard there a little stiffer than stock. i really dont want to tuck tire i want it to be on the brink maybe a gap big enough to fit one finger in… i would love my da to sit like this

thanks guys. if i end up getting the blues what springs would best suit them? i know they dont handle more then about 1.75" of drop but will it require more than that to get close to this look? i heard h&r oe sports but that doesnt drop but like .75 to maybe 1 inch after they settle and then there’s the h&r sports which lower more than i want to be(roads suck here) and tein s techs. what is your guys opinion? im open to whatever i just want to get a feel for something and honestly ill probably get konis next year but i want to find out what i like and dont like. i know its an attempt to save people time and money on your end with the koni gc setup… but i want to understand through trial and error. i dont want to say “oh well get koni sports and grond controls” and yet ive never had anything else out there…you guys know?

thank you guys a ton. ive searched for like hours on end each night until like 3 am haha.

The people that are advising you to wait and get a quality setup more than likely have experience with just how poor the cheaper setups are. Koni orange and tokico blues aren’t designed to be used at the ride height you want. Period. Doing so will shorten their lifespan so dramaticly that you’ll quickly see why they were a waste of money if what you really want is the height pictured in your link.

If thats the height you’re looking for you want a shock designed to perform and take the abuse that it is going to see at that height. Imo your two options are Tokico illuminas or koni yellows.

Buy once, cry once

haha alright man. thank you. i talked to my brother and sometimes we just get the urge when you can get something at that given time and it forces you to think about whats in front of you but i know it would be stupid to just buy it and buy again later. so i hear you man and everyone else so i’ll just save the little bit i got and wait for something better. thanks again guys
