Koni Yellow Shocks on DA

i run dc koni yellows and skunk2 coilovers. i got mine from a friend for free. try team integra and see if anyone is sellign any. i love them. they are super soft and comfy on the low setting at crusing, but they get decently stiff through a turn. the hardest setting is so stiff i can’t drive it 5 miles without hurting my lower back. strictly track only far as im concerned. i love the setup and i’d do it again in a heartbeat. there is a lot of adjustability iwth them.

ok i can get the koni yellow right now for a real good deal but the only thing is, is that its for the 94-01 tegs and i have a 92 4dr…should i get them…will they fit with no mods…

Don’t buy them, you need the shocks for a 90-93 Integra. If you have coilover sleeves and 94-01 Integra front forks, then go ahead and buy them.

omg, it was just answered. you asked the same question.

and i quote…

“yes but you will need the front strut forks from a dc teg or a 92-95 civic. also the rear struts are shorter so to utilize them properly you need to have a coilover sleeve setup, using springs the cars ass will be too low.”

Yeah, Dont buy them. Let me buy them.

I got a 92’ 4DR also. hahaha I can use another set of Koni Yellows.

And how cheap are you looking at anyways?

I got DC front forks for sale if you’re interested.

there about 350 cdn dollar…thanks for all the help guys i think im going to with the koni’s that will fit right on…

350 CDN for some Koni Yellows sounds like a Great deal, and they will fit right on.
All you need is the front forks from a DC/EF.

DC struts are also thicker in diameter than g2s.
I’m not sure if that’s better, but I suppose it would be.

Somebody else should know for sure.

I know I got some DC front KYB GR2 struts, and they’re alot stiffer than my g2 KYB GR2 struts.

but the thing is, is that there used only for one season…but i found i next place selling them for 650 new for a 90-93 is that also a good deal

I got my 2 front ones for under $200 Shipped NEW.

Look around, you should be able to find a better price.

I’d still rather pick up the used ones for $350.

ICHI, you just answered your own question. 350 for a set used only one season or 650 for a new set. if you are POSITIVE that they were only used for one season then why would you drop another 300 bucks for new ones?!?!?! use that 300 to get ground control or skunk2 coilovers and the dc/ef front forks like i said.

and smokeless, you got your struts for less than 200 new because kyb gr2s are like tokico blues . . . oem replacement struts, slightly stiffer setup, which is why they are cheaper. a koni yellow, tokico illumina, or kyb agx is a totallly different . . . and much more expensive high performance strut.

well i just picked up some neuspeed springs on koni yellows- height and damper adjustable- for NZ$350 which is about US$200… beat that :stuck_out_tongue:

To whomever this may concern-

Out new(er) sponsor WEKSOS quoted me at 535.00 shipped for new koni yellows.

Hit him up on AIM, he’s a very amiable guy

icemanGSR , It’s StokelesS,

and I was referring to have gotten 2 New front Koni yellows for $200.

Not the KYB GR2s anymore.

Sorry if you misunderstood somehow, but in the earlier post I was only comparing the difference in diameter from the g2 and g3 struts.

I could of used a free suspension, but I found that a much more expensive high performance strut isn’t so expensive.

smokeless your previous posts were just unclear no biggie. 200 for koni fronts is a good deal. high performance suspension is a get what you pay for kinda thing. those of us who are patient can usually find some good deals, as you did.

if i buy koni yellows, will they work without the GC setup? i mean some of the pics i’ve seen of them (not sure what they were for) didnt have spring pirches…
i’ve got my own performance springs but they’re not the coilover sleeve type. they’ve been on my stock shocks for quite some time. decided to get some koni yellows since i wanna start autoX’n more since drag racings out for me (i dont race saturday and this season my track is only racing on saturday… and they have no Test N tunes)

sigh don’t people read anymore . . . to answer that question yet again . . . you can use konis on regular springs or aftermarket lowering springs IF AND ONLY IF they are FOR YOUR CAR A DA. IF you use the ones for a DC you NEED TO USE COILOVERS.

whys that? your konis don’t have height adjustment?

:bigread: Yes well all koni yellows have height adjustment. But even on the highest setting IF you are using a set for a DC integra, the strut is too short. If you put it on the highest perch setting and use only springs the back end will sit lower than the front. That adustment is just to shorten the amount of piston travel in the strut, although it offers some height adjustability. That is why if you use only a spring instead of a coilover, the car will sit lower in the back, b/c each of the 5 notches on the body of the strut will barely move the back of the car up or down.

Ok seriously ALL the information needed to do this has already been listed. Please READ the entire post carefully before asking a question. I have repeated myself several times.

LOL
:nana:

not quite sure where you thought i was asking about DC shocks…LOL
whatever.
also just cuz some of you have time to read every freaking post out here. some of us scan due to lack of time… and its easy to miss things from time to time.
