Its in my thread a few pages back but i used RX330 projectors they are comparable to S2k and Tsx
i just got free headlights from a 2009 mazada 3 i believe they housed hids they look like projectors… im curious if u would know if they would fit?
They might and they also might not be HID its an option on those i think for the mazdaspeed3. I just looked them up and they are Diameter = 85.10mm
Height = 98.50mm
Width = 116.50mm
Length = 167.00mm
So now i would like the shroud to sit back on the projector more so i got rid of this little lip
after it sits nice and close
I also grinded these down to help clearance
Then i needed to take some off the inside
I made some adjustability for up and down to dial in the output
so i put one in and tested adjustment pretty good for not testing before just needed a little leveling
After that i started working on the the other filler piece
THEN Tragedy struck i knocked it off my bench and this happend
OH NO
Thank god i had some quick steel and fixxed it up
here is a teaser both fillers are mocked up and fitted shroud i think where it will work out and just need to secure projectorclose it all up and done
also this is my hood before the clear notice the cloudyness still after wet sand and polish
and it in the dark but its all clear now looks good for a cheap hood
put the hoodpins back, i hate them but the holes look worse :(, im sure you could find some nicer hoodpins however
BRILLIANT!.. Good job.
If you make another set to sell let me know
I will i wanted to let the clear harden real good so they dont imprint i also was wet sanding and polishing too
started on the other side last night
used the other side as a templet
this is what im gonna use to secure the projector
this is what i look like after al this grinding and cutting
My shrouds before and after
getting it closer now this tim around it only took a couple hours cause i already know what and how to do it
Lookin good:up:
no work on the retro last night i took a little break and put my exhaust back on fixxed the holes with quick steel yes it may be ghetto but it should work. Now i need to shorten the gutted GSR cat i got from stevo so my exhaust sits where it should.
Driver side got some more work done
gathered up all my mock up filler pieces
more of the shroud and projector
Then i checked how it sat and made adjustments
Started making filler pieces
both sides now
clearanced the black ousing part
tranfered all the fillers to polished panel
front and back notice the diff
Then taped up the shiny side to keep it looking good while i cut and adjust
looks good seth now post up the ones you sent me with these beast DONE!!
Got it all finished up tonight looks really good
Fitted the final filler pieces in blue to keep them shiny
used some plumbers tape to mount the projector
drilled hole and mounted it doesnt move at all filler pieces
Lights out getting ready to check and adjust
got some help from my little guy we call him Monkey
I had to paint the outside of the lenses to cover up what i cut off the shroud
testing aim
interior of lights put together
closer look at fillers
lens on and headlight done one down one to go
all done now to put them in
and DONE
very sexy seth ^^
excellent work!
Those look really good! Definately worth the time and effort. They make your car stand out way more. How about light output? Are you happy with it? Did you get the cut-off lines perfect?
