KYB GR2 or TOKICO HP??

hi
I must do my suspension
I must bought new shocks, bushings, etc.
What shocks are better?? I think about KYB GR2 or Tokico HP. Any suggestions??
I finally drop my teg a little on H&R (-2"/-2") springs
greetings from Poland

if those are your choices get the blues, its what i have and i also have H&R springs…

get gr2, cheaper and good

gr2’s are basically stock shocks…get tokico blues if you want them to last longer

don’t get blues if ur lowering ur car more than 2inches. i’ve had my blues in the front for 2 years and they finally blew, i would suggest the gr2’s they last longer they cost the same as the blues. my 2 cents from experience. And gr2’s are not stock shocks, they will last longer than blues

dude are u crazy, gr2’s are cheap, i had em on my g1, ask anybody kyb gr2’s are basically a lil better than stock replacements, plus u can get the blues for like 240 shipped on ebay.

GR2’s are 15% stiffer than stock, and come with a lifetime warranty.

man you guys are confusing, which one is better for a 1.8inch drop about!!! answer the simple question lol

go with the blue, i have the gr2 on my teg and i change the rear strut like 3 times in a year… :bored:

gr2’s there ment for drops like 1.8 also they come w/ the lifetime warranty which is a plus. Just as long as you don’t go past 2 inches on the struts you’ll be fine. I had these on my rear for more than 2 years and haven’t changed them since i sold the car.
Best thing to do if ur still confused is to do a lil more research on your own.

I’ve been satisfied with GR-2’s in the past. My EF was lowerd with neuspeed race springs on the gr2’s. My EF was lowered for two years, the ride was decent and the shocks didn’t blow. So I bought some gr2’s for my teg, they’re on their way.

bah, the blues are better, ask almost anyone

any fact that blues are better??
all i know is they are slightly more expensive

Go into the suspension forum.

You’ll hear way more people complain about the tokico’s than about KYB’s.

:werd: :search:

Ive been running the Tokico HP Blues for 3 1/2 years now… with some Skunk2 Coilovers with a 2.5inch drop in the front 2 inch drop in the year, and over 35k miles on them…and I have yet to have any problems…I would recommend the Tokicos…from my experience…

the tokicos are slightly stiffer and meant more for performance applications. the GR2 are not necessarily meant as a performance shock, they’re meant as an upgrade to the hydraulic shocks on most vehicles. this is why they are only 15% stiffer than stock.

GR2s do come with a lifetime warranty. i’ve heard mixed reviews of both but i’ve heard more complaints about the tokicos. the difference price-wise if you check ebay is about $60 in favor of the KYB. i’ll be putting them in my car in a few weeks, i’ll post my thoughts when that happens.
