Leaking Tail Lights, what do you think?? (pics)

OK, i cleared the tails out and sealed them with silicone, and they still seem to leak, do i just need new gaskets or what?? If i go just need new gaskets do you thkink that I could use weather striping instead?? its almost the same thickness (little thicker) and at lot cheaper.

The water is inside the light and only seems to collect right here:

thanks for the help guys.

seems like that portion of the gasket is leaking… why don’t you just try using weather stripping which should seal that baby

Had the same problem. New gaskets fixed it.

i have the same problem but instead it’s the whole clear area.

i put new gaskets on my stock tails… still leak.

where do you put the silicone?

what happened to your side vents/?? did you patch them up?

can u guys show me how to fix it with the gasket?? it’s really annoying sometimes. Oh ya and u know what my car leaks inside the trunk. When it rains my trunk carpet was a lil wet. How can u fix that??

re: tail lights

don’t mean to open this one back up, but I am having the same problem. I was so stocked about the clear look, and then I lightly washed my car to see fi they would leak, and sure enough water started to drip! Did I not put enough silicone? Also, my tails didn’t go all the way into the housing when I reinstalled them. There is like a very tiny gap, they used to go almost all the way in. Do you guys think I should just try to silicone seal it from the outside where the water is collecting. Please, need help here. Also, will the water collecting in there damage the chrome tape (metal tubing tape)? And does anyone’s cleared tails ever look slightly pink at a certain angle?

anyone??? I want to destroy my teg!!! :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :gun: :rocket: :gun2: :getsome: :gun:

I resealed and the lights are flush in the housing. I used alot of silicone too!!! :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh:
