led lights suck

I just swap out all my tail back up and turn signal lights with led bulbs.

As soon as I put them in I had trouble trying to turn off my lights.

Yesterday on my way to work my clock started to dim when I hit the brakes.

Today I was driven home all my dash lights started to flash, My radio went out, The fuse to my power window blows

I put the stock lights back in and everything is back to normal.

as i was looking at the led bulbs I notice one bulb made a noise. solder on the inside had came loose. that mite be the problem but iam not putting them back in.
LED suck

What led bulbs did you get??? The plug and play ones?

youre trying to run LED lights on a system not designed for them, of course it wont work right.

unless you go and find (or build) LED arrays that meet OEM specs for voltage and amperage rates youre going to run into these issues.

Correct. They do sell a wiring kit for LEDs that have resisters. Don’t use them Walmart crap shit.

What’s the advantage of LED lights, anyway? I know they use a fraction of the power of the old-fashioned incandescent bulbs (and thus your alternator doesn’t have to work as hard, putting less drag on the engine), but what does that translate to in terms of energy savings? 0.00001 mpg?

installed properly from the factory they can last a very very long time. you need to wire in resistors to keep from burning out the bulbs. can’t just wire them directly.

though many LED bulbs are directional and do not offer very good lighting at all really… and are relatively expensive.

The advantages of L.E.D’s are

  1. Quicker response time(on/off)etc.
  2. They last way longer than conventional bulbs
  3. Brighter than conventional bulbs
But as everyone knows our cars are not wired for them, you need to have resistors and proper amperage.

Where’d you get the LEDs from? I’ve never heard of that happening before.

The only places i know that sell the bulbs are pepboyz auto zone and Walmart.

i got everything on ebay form different guys i

Can you provide links?

I’ve considered LED replacements but only through superbrightleds.com

They’re the only ones that had the wide angle versions.

There are a lot of cheap manufacturers out there. I also wasn’t going to use them as turn signal lights, just “constant on” lights.

There is good information about LEDs on that site too.

(EDIT: I made a mistake with the website, the correct one is now listed)

Imagine. Guy goes and buys the cheapest shit available and they turn out to be junk. No way!!!

Thread about LEDs and turn signals for our cars.

I posted the wrong website earlier. I just corrected it.

my amber LED turn signals for the rear work fine, i bought them for 1 dollar at autotoyz.

then i bought some load equalizers at autozone and they blink at normal speed with no issues.

but maybe its because you are using more then 1 set of LED lights, that might be a problem.
