looks like you need to start reading up on ABS and what exactly the component differences are before you jump to conclusions.
Not in here though and that was the first time I’d seen it.
Thanks for the trailing arm tip. Perfect timing seeing as how I need to replace the bushings in mine.
welp just found another upgrade my teggy wants :burnout:
NIce write up men. Defenitely, want to do this upgrade. And it will fit behind 15’s nice. Later.
Anyone know if a S2000 caliper would work in this setup? I’m still researching it, but haven’t had any luck so far.
this thread is discussing 2-piston calipers.
if you wanna talk about POS 1-piston start a new thread.
Such a helpful bastard, hehe. Just trying to provide some options if legend calipers can’t be found.
Q1:In G2 Guru’s post, did he use legend rotors. Cause why did he have to use those rings, it is because legend rotors don’t quite fit to the hub.
but prelude rotors do???
legend rotors are thicker right so thats the only advantage
Q2:Also did G2guru grind the inside of the caliper bracket or the back side of the bracket?
ppl saying grinding the inside still means that one pad will be closer than the other so different pad wear maybe? in theory it shld wear more on one
UPDATE: I also agree with what was said about keeping the pistons in there orgonal configeration. Don’t swap sides just flip the caliper up and use a bit of wood for the pistons to bit on.
thanks for the tip on the rears… i’ll try that out…
about the fronts, i have just purchased rotors & pads from a ep3, rotors look same size as stock DA rotors, but pads are slightly larger…
Digging this up:
Armed Ferret & g2Guru: Can you say that the stopping power is any better? Because I was thinking: Does dual piston necessarily mean better stopping power than single piston? How would the Legend dual pistons compare to the ITR single piston caliper?
Where can I come by a set of these legend calipers? I could get re-mans from a store (would be expensive since I don’t have a core…) but I dont think those come with the pad retaining bracket thing.
Sorry I didn’t see this sooner; I’ve been getting sicker and sicker the last couple days.
As to stopping power, I can only phrase it like this: When you’re just driving around like normal, it feels basically like stock. However, when you need the extra braking force, it’s there in a flash. In other words, you only experience the added stopping power if you ask it of your brake pedal. Clear as mud now?
With regard on where to get them, your best bet is to call around and ask different parts stores for a “loaded” set of calipers. They’ll cost more, but they come with the mounting brackets, all new metal springs/shims, and new O.E. pads.
Cool on the loaded calipers. Trouble is at advance auto I think even if you say you have a 94-95 GS 4-door you could end up with some single pistons. I wonder if it is worth it to get some legend calipers of eBay…like some crappy one pistons and use them to turn in as a core. From my experience they don’t inspect the core that thoroughly.
So I’m stuck between Legend, NSX, and ITR for the front.
if they give you single-piston calipers, give them back and say “can you count to two, dipshit?”
i had to do that once. worked great.
great project guys! really looking forward to doing it soon.
go my legend calipers on order, and my prelude rotors are at the shop waiting to be picked up.
g2guru-- how did you get your grinding to be so clean? Looks factory like that!
just a little scared about taking a angle grinder to some brand new calipers, eek!
it’s all about patience and not using too much pressure.
armed your pictures in the first pagearent showing up anymore…could you re-host the ones you have to help the rest of us out? thanks bud.
legend brakes are :gay:
thanks for the ever so helpful comment. go flush a fish.
:gtfo:
G2guru…that some sweet grinding skill, they look machined. i wish i could do that, at least i know exactly where to grind now. im asuming your calipers are mounted to the front of the rotor rather than the rear? may i ask where you got your calipers and rotors?
