Well, it is time for me to buy my motor for my motor swap, and I was wondering what online buisnesses are legit to get my motor from, and won’t screw me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I heard jdm1.com is bad so I know to avoid them. Thanks a lot! LocalePED
well, i got my from www.soko.com for $900. only took 4days to get here from cali. i know people who brought from kwatanabe (sp?) but you have to send them the money first and then they will order you the motor. it took about 4 weeks for my bro to get his motor from them. i guess they don’t stock any engines at their shop.
I’m considering buying from, http://www.jspecjdm.net/ Also check ebay, after you wade through all light bulbs and other crap you sometimes find b16’s. Now most of 'em suck but sometimes people will put good stuff up and you can just offer 'em money if you can prove your really serious
azboy,
You mentioned that you ordered from soko.com. Did they seem honest and would you buy from them again?
Thanks
I heard that www.nippon-motors.com is a good source so I called yesterday cuz I’m doing an engine swap and they have B18B engines for $850. Can anyone give me some advice to what would be the best swap for our G2’s in your opinion. thanks
i hate to plug the other site, but u can get gooood deals on motors from hondasociety.com email the site owner or just check out the store…really good prices!
wha?
1500 for a 1st gen b16a? thats pretty damn high man.
Well if i live in cali i know of a place in chico that seemed really honest and had no trouble answering any questions i had. I have a friend out there that has heard great reviews on supra motors theyve purchased(she works at a performance shop in Chico) Plus the prices seemed fair and shipping was well under100$. heres the number call them up and check them out. Rising Sun motors Joe@1-888-660-4664 aight good luck peace!!!

all 2nd gen tegs are a direct bolt-in for any b-series engine.
like me ('92 LS here), you’re obd-I. if you’re just starting to look into a swap, hit up the teg tips section (in the pulldown menu at the top of the page)…go to engine and there’s an “engine swap guide”…DEFINITELY check that out it tells you EVERYTHING you can keep and what you need to swap for an engine swap.
**btw, if you’re gonna add vtec, check out www.jdmhondaparts.com for a really kickin’ offer…click on ECU tuning and look at what they can do. that’s right, a non-vtec ecu is POSSIBLE to chip to a vtec ecu! w00t!
anyway i’m gettin mine re-chipped by them for $175. that includes making my non-vtec into vtec, as well as a 5200 vtec crossover, and 9500 limiter, along with aggressive fuel mapping to boot. should be fun to say the least
