lights/amp shut off at +3200rpm

So the just my headlights(HID) and my amp both turn off when im driving on the highway OR just when im about about 3200rpm or more. the fog lights stay on… so i have do like 100KM/h in order not to piss off everyone infront of me… i think it may have to do with my alternator regulator is messed and letting it charge to high…

idk, but it’s anoying as hell and have anyone eles had this problem?

I put in a NEW ACDELCO alternator about a month and a bit ago, im going to bring it to work on moday and see if i can figure it out, but if anyone has some advise

im all ears.

Do you have a multimeter so you can test the voltage?

Is you start the car and turn on the dome light and rev engine does dome light get brighter? 94

yea i have a couple multimeters at work and also im going to preform an AVR on it,when i start my car the light go bright and stay bright, but at 3200rpm my blower blows way harder when the lights and amp shut off. so idk, just was wondering if im sailing alone in the boat

Definitely sounds like the voltage regulator has gone south. 94

yep, the car was charging @18.4V when it was reving up so, replaced the alternator and all is well now :slight_smile:
