Hey guys i replaced my fog bulbs last week cause my driver side went out. I put standard 55w bulbs. I don’t usually drive around with them, but i cruised around last night with em on. not too long. This morning i noticed the passenger side is burned. Why are they burning out so fast? Can’t find anything on the forum with the same problem
What brand of bulb are you buying?
Was it the same side that burnt out?
Check the fog light grounds. 94
Did you touch the glass bulbs? You’re not supposed to touch the glass. If you touch the glass, it leaves oil and residue from your fingers on it and they will crack and burn out very quickly.
Nope, it wasn’t a burnt bulb this time. I hit the fog housing of the bulb that was out and it worked. Time and again it doesn’t work i just have to move it a bit. Weird… The connections and ground seem to be good but sometimes it stops working… even when i just turn them off and on, no movement.
20 year old electronics need a good manhandling sometimes.
i just went through my harnesses with a fine toothed comb, rewired some of the more worn wires and a new little quirk arose.
hows this for a weird quirk: when i turn the engine on, both of my side indicators (the “corner” lights) come on, but if i turn the engine off and put the key back into the “on” position (withouth cranking the motor) the lights dont come on, only when the motor is on. lolz
try tightening up all the wire connections into the fog housing
