Lights on dash turning off

Well here is the problem I am running into. When driving at night, If I turn the right turn signal on, the dash lights and lights around the AC all go out. It only does it whenever I use the right turn signal. My headlights stay on. This only started happening after I put a new alternator on. I am thinking possible dimmer switch problem but IDK it could be a short somewhere. I just think it’s odd that it started immediatly after putting on the alternator. I can get it to do it consistently if I am sitting still and it only randomly does it while driving. Anybody experienced anything similar or have any insight on what to check??

Is it just your dash lights, [illumination] or is it the park/tail lights also?

If just the dash lights, pull the, “Dash Lights Brightness Controller” and unplug it and install a jumper wire to connect the black and the red, [not red/black] leads together and see if you still have the problem.

If the park lights also go out it is probably a problem with the “Combination Light Switch” test for power, [12V+] on the red/green lead coming out of the switch, [also found is steering wheel harness] when right turn signal is on, if no power, replace “CLS” 94

Yeah it’s just the dash lights.where do I find the dash lights controller?

where do I find the dash lights controller?
On the dash, it controls dash light brightness, sometimes mistakenly called a “dimmer switch” the dimmer switch is what changes between low and high beam head lights. 94

ok thats what I was thinking the problem was. I call it the dimmer switch haha. Cool thanks for the help!
