Sounds like a solid suspension setup! I really like the quality of hardrace stuff that I’ve seen so far and I doubt you’ll be dissapointed. I am looking forward to seeing more feedback on that kit though. I just wasn’t patient enough to wait it out .
Not a huge update by any means. It’s a slow go since moving, trying to find a good job and all.
BUT, this is small step forward in the right direction as far as the sideskirts go.
As you are all aware… we own old cars. Hardware is getting rusty, and here is a good idea of what I’m dealing with.
These are the brackets that hold the bottom of the sideskirt to the seam on the bottom of the car.
The fastener is rusted solid. One bracket was missing, and there is some slight cracking of the sideskirt where these brackets mount.
Not only did they need to be removed to fix the cracks, but also to paint underneath them (when I get to that point).
I don’t know any fabricators here, so I reached out to a friend back home and he assured me that we’d get them figured out.
The results aren’t perfect, but damn close.
Carbon-steel, heat treated and bent to shape.
I’ll need to drill the mounting holes prior to installation… As well as figure out a but/bolt combo to make them securely fasten to the seam of the car.
As I said though, a small step in the right direction that makes me even more excited about getting these babies installed!
Now… I think I’m going to end up rocking the rear lip, which means a '90-91 bumper is needed.
That leaves me with the front bumper…
What front lips are out there for us '92+ guys? I like the idea of the JDP OE2, as far as styling… but I don’t care for CF on my car… Nor do I want to end up crushing a carbon lip.
Alternatives, recommendations, opinions? All are welcome!
That’s awesome! Those were in really rough shape!
Jdp makes their OE2 in fiberglass too. About $50 cheaper than the carbon version if your only concern was painting it. I doubt the fiberglass version would be much more durable than the carbon fiber though. Its fairly thin and if it gets smacked on anything I’m sure it would crack easily too.
Hmm… the positive to that though is I have an extensive knowledge of fiberglass repair…
Really didn’t think of that option… thanks for enlightening me dude!
I ended up cracking my oe2 didnt realized theres a bump in the parking just heard the sound lol. Now I dont know if its fixable Im still rocking it though.
89 Integra lip
I had the Type R style front lip on my old 92 integra.
Back then it was $80 ish off ebay. no name brand. took a beating and held up great for 3 years and then I sold the car with it still on it.
There’s a replica JDP OE1 you can buy for about $80. I know we generally don’t like to support fakes but the lip is some sorta plastic instead of carbon or fiberglass so for someone who is gonna daily their car on bad roads or someone like me who is gonna rip it apart in the infield I think it could be a good option. A compromise if you will.
I like the OE1, OE1 and G1 lip more than any other options. I’m not a huge fan of the OEM optional front, but I could see myself rocking a Chargespeed, Buddyclub or Hiro, but to me that’s sorta show car stuff now that they are so rare. I hate basically everything else (all the “ITR” and “Mugen” knock offs).
Lol damnit!

I’ve always liked your car man… HG ftw!

True that… I’m not big on the idea of running something that will likely be trashed on a DD or street-driven car.
Decisions, decisions!
I appreciate everyone’s feedback so far though!
Us Racing lip ftw LOL

curious to see how the skirts mount up with the custom hardware. If it works out, you may be able to help some people out here on g2ic, because the majority of the skirts i see dont come with half of the hardware intact.
You won’t see them mounted anytime soon, as the car is still 1,600miles away from me lol
They aren’t 100% identical in shape, either… But we’re talking 1/8" variance between OE and these, I imagine they’ll fit just fine. Being hand-bent, you really can’t get much closer than these.
I’m actually going to have another batch made up in case anyone needs an extra set.
USRacing, for a '92+??
Or are you saying I need to stick with a '90 setup? lol
I’m reaaaaaally wanting to stay '92+ in the front.
Thanks man. I actually put it up for sale again sunday night and had someone come by to look at it with cash in hand less than 24 hours later. I just couldn’t muster up the gull to let it go. Gave an excuse of “im not too comfortable selling it with that flat tire on the back at the moment. Ill get that fixed and then give you a call”.
an OE1 replica plastic front lip actually sounds like something that could be a decent alternative. I believe this would be the same plastic my Type R styled front lip was made out of. It took a beating like I mentioned earlier and still didn’t crack.
Understandable sir… I know I couldn’t sell mine.
A few weeks ago my brother got antsy and wanted to sell some rare ion-style headlights from his EK. After me repeatedly telling him he’s regret it, someone actually came to check them out… at the last minute, he couldn’t part with them. He kicked the guy $10 for the gas he used coming out and put them back on the shelf lol
Here is a closer comparison of the brackets I’m having made.
Not perfect, but damn close.
If anyone is in need of a set, let me know. I’m going to have a couple extras made up.

Hook me up with a set.
Been meaning to post up in here. But thanks for picking the kit up from me brotha! And awesome to finally meet in person and shoot the shit. Really glad it went to an appreciative home, and can’t wait to see it all fixed up and installed! Leaving ya some feedback for an awesome, trouble-free transaction. Leave me some as well when you get a chance, thanks. Hopefully we can link up again homie! Hit up Glynn, Carl, or I on your way back through next time
Feedback has been left. Thanks again sir!
No real updates to write home about… Though there are some upgrades and additions in the works, so expect a few things added to the parts-list in the near future
I am curious if you ever got your fan or fans working right, and what the problem turned out to be?
I could jump the fan-switch connector and get the fan to kick on… So I figured the wiring and relays were in working order.
I swapped in a new BuddyClub fan switch, and STILL the fan doesn’t come on often. I have witnessed it comes on one time since installing the switch… So I’m going to assume the original switch may have been getting old. New radiator, new thermostat, freshly cleaned coolant passages in the block… I’m going to assume it just stays on the cooler side when running.
The temp gauge in the cluster has always worked and points just shy of the half-way-mark when up to operating temperature…
