I’m looking into building and swapping in a crv-vtec. I did a search and couldn’t pinpoint a thread talking about the wear and tear of the crvtec swap.
Will these engines hold up as well as a regular b18a semi-modified engine? Are they prone to many problems? Are they reliable in the long run?
The swap is so new, that I haven’t seen the long term effects. Anybody already know what will happen? Any estimates?
And of course, it has to do with the way you drive it.
How far can you push it, yet still have it last?
Will it last me 4 years? 6? 8?
What about just daily driving, not much racing? Perhaps once every other month, going to the track for some fun?
How does it compare to a LS/VTEC setup (wear, reliability, and longevity wise, not performance wise). And also, I know that people always say that if they’re built right, they shouldn’t have any problems. so saying that they’re all built very well, how do they compare?
And last question, for those who have the swap, how comfortable is it to drive? meaning, does it idle badly, sound like crap, spew **** out the tailpipe a lot, have a lot of problems, high maintenance!?!?
Thanks guys!
