I’m running a practically stock 91 LS B18a1:
Performance Mods are:
Short RAM air intake
2.25" exhaust piping /w stock muffler.
I was running on some nearly bald Toyo Proxes @ ~30-35psi with ~2.75* negative camber in the front, aside from dropping pressures next time what should I work on? Also, is there any way to get a two wheel stage without an lsd? Any tricks? My best 60’ was about 2.3 flat.
Here’re my best two runs:
This one my launch and r/t weren’t great (though I know r/t doesnt factor into final time, my best was around .382)
R/T: .599
60’: 2.441
330’: 6.766
1/8: 10.428
MPH: 67.09
1000: 13.587
1/4: 16.302
MPH: 83.17
This one I felt my launch was better, but I think the engine was a bit more heatsoaked or I bogged a bit, don’t quite remember:
R/T: .741
60’: 2.356
330’: 6.780
1/8: 10.472
MPH: 66.09
1000: 13.653
1/4: 16.380
MPH: 16.380
Can I expect to get into the 15’s with driving skill alone? I got 6 runs in and this was my first time at a strip, my first two times were a 17.4 and an 18.1, so I think I’ve improved a lot, though I have a long way to go.
I would suggest taking some air out of your front tires. Maybe to 25psi. And putting your rear to 40psi. I ran a 15.7 like this in a bone stock 92 integra.
The extra 10hp might help you shave a few tenths off of that too. I’ll drop it to 25psi (hot?) next time I go and see how that works, I also had half a tank of gas and a full interior with my fat ass (200lbs) in it, how’s your car equipped in that regard?
Full interior. But i only weigh 155lbs.
What tires were you on? I was thinking of picking up some drag radials but I’m afraid that my car won’t have enough power to spin them even after the water and I don’t want to break any axles.
I was running some bald tires. Like i really needed new ones. I prolly could run 15.4 if i had better tires. And breaking axles always happens to me even with my bald tires. Axles arent that expensive. I got the lifetime warranty nappa axles.
Also what do you launch at?
You wont bog with DR if you launch at like 4.5k
I was launching around 5-5.5k but I never drop the clutch, I feathered it. I’m gonna try to get into the 15’s this time, but are you sure 15.5’s are possible on a practically stock Integra? I mean that’s what a DC GSR is “supposed to” run stock.
Yea its more then possible my friend ran a 15.1 in his bone stock gsr. Maybe your launching too high if you have to feather it. I just drop the clutch and go.
Practice makes perfect. It appears you are going in a good direction.
For the drag strip I would recommend leveling out the front camber to get a larger contact patch between the tire and the track. Negative camber helps on the turns but can hinder strait line traction.
Try lowering the front tires by 5 lbs, then another 5 lbs on the next run.
Always run the rear tires at the max psi printed on the sidewall for a front drive car. New tires should help too.
With some basic weight shaving, tweaking the car and critiquing your technique there is no reason why you should not be able to run in the 15s.
Each time I go to the track I’m changing one thing so I can get a consistent idea of what I need to do. Next time I go I’m dropping the pressure to 25psi.
Hondaguy, you’re supposed to feather the clutch, dropping it will shock the drivetrain, hurt your axles more, and cause the car to jerk making it lose traction unnecessarily and cause you to run a slower time.
I can’t change my camber as I’m on coils with no camber kit, but I’m looking into getting drag radials soon.
side step the clutch at a lower rpm

I ran a 15.7 and didnt feather the clutch.
You ran 16 and did
If your have adjustable coilovers then you can raise it to help the camber. The downside is it will also slightly adjust more weight to the rear wheels. Something to try if you get enough runs to play around.

There are many other factors that contribute to that aside from how you work the clutch. I’ll post results next wednesday of my runs to see how my driving improved.
I was just saying i dont know how feathering would be faster if when i launch it never touches the rev limiter. I launch at 4k and it just pulls like it like grips at 6300 then when it catches speed i shift normally.
I’ll definately try that then, I was just saying that the more you shock the driveline the less traction you have even when you should be having it. Dropping it causes more shock than slipping.
Hondaguy, can you post your slip (mainly interested in 60/330 foot and trap speed? I went today with better tires and still could only manage a 16.35 or so, could the problem be my 2.25" exhaust? I took the test pipe off and put a stock cat on and it felt more powerful than before, but I still have a stock muffler, any ideas? Could it be my timing or something?
