Looking for advice on tires

Lookin for input on known stiff side wall tires. Im running 17x7’s on a 2" drop.
I really really dig the 225/45/17’s just not sure if i can squeeze’m in there.
These will be my everyday beaters so let the suggestions rip! Thanks guys

Try Yokohama S drives

What are your offsets and how much camber are you running? I have 215 40 17 on 7" with a 37 offset and had to roll fenders with about -0.5 degree camber with the about the same lowering.

dunlop zll, bfgoodrich comp-2 , yokohama s-drives, bfgoodrich g-force rivals. all really good tires. Am running dunlop direzza zll love them on the track they do hummmmmmm on the highway. I work at tire rack too lol. check the tire test results out it when you search for tires on tirerack.com it will help you with your decision.

Well i can tell you im not sure what my camber & toe is cuz i do need an alignment which doesnt help either but i dont know the offset of my wheels either, there just some regular 17’s they look like “raceharts C3’s”. I just scored some long sought after Si’s i been looking for so im gonna use those instead which im prolly gonna run 195/50/15 or 195/55/15 then once installed i’ll have my alignment redone & we’ll see where we’re at this weekend. Are the Falken 512’s any good ? The last time i checked Tirerack doesnt have Falkens for some reason

They are an ok tire. If you want something with a stiffer sidewall I’d go with the dunlop direzza II or the bridgestone re11a. They will give you the best performance but won’t last as long.

Keep us updated on how your NEW tires run on the Si’s. Which tire you chose and what size. I’m on Fat fives 205/50/15s with bad tires. Kumhos ast brand new. I’ve heard the side walls are so soft and I’m have issues with stability on freeways with them.

I just want to know what tires are good for the 15 inch alloys rims on highway speeds. Surface streets stability is fine with my Kumhos but freeway driving feels pretty scary.

The tires I have now I came across randomly but I really like them, I dont do any crazy kinds of driving but none the less. The brand is Doral, which now I think is called Aspen. But they are a pretty solid compound tire all the way around, not to mention pretty cheap for what they are and have lasted me a really long time for not having camber kits or anything. They look like the would be an expensive type of tire.

I dunno if they make them in the size you need, but may be worth checking out.

I think 225/45 is way to big. I went to Miata tire calculator and 195/40 is closest to stock and the size I am running on my 17’s.
