I did a search and all I came up with was painting my wiper arms…
Here’s the problem: My wipers don’t go intermittent anymore, just slow and fast. When I turn it to the first position. NOTHING. I tried wiggling the switch between intermit/off/and slow to check if it was a bad contact. But it didn’t do anything. Is there some relay that I can switch out? It started doing this a while ago, but I just ignored it. It would kind of cut in and out and make a buzzing sound down by left foot. Like a stuck relay? I called the dealer and they said change the icu. I think the cost was 150! Hey, I need my wipers I’m in Seattle!
Mine hasn’t worked for years now either. I could not figure out if it was a relay problem or the switch itself. Either way I couldn’t be bothered. I just use the mist switch instead
92Teg is correct. It is the relay but it is located on the back of the inside fuse panel. It kind of a pain in the butt to change out you have to unbolt the fuse panel and pull it out to get to it. This relay also controls the rear window defroster and something else.
you really think it’s the switch? I figured if I jiggled that thing back and forth enough you’d get a little contact. I did hear a buzzing down by the icu/fusebox that sounded like a funky relay.
oh crap, that’s the ICU that the dealer was talking about (item 17 in link above). That’s $150 bucks.
I think I’ll be tearing apart my steering column to clean out my switch first!
