Lowered 93 'teg

Ok guys heres the deal.

I got my 93 'teg from a guy who had adjustable coil overs put on it. It’s quite low to the ground as it sits now, being in the lousy area I am where it snows I planned on putting my ride height up for the winter and taking off my nice shiny 5 star 17" rims. However, I find now that my front tires are all worn out on the inside because it doesn’t sit flush on the road. Why? Because its not aligned. Now I call to get an alignment and they tell me there is no camber to adjust or something and they would have to bend the bars to get it flush. Now, if they bend the bars I cant put it back up in the winter and basically Im being screwed up the ass.

Could someone who has a similar experience or an idea please let me know. Dont tell me to store my car I love it to much to not drive it even if its a pain in the arse.

Thanks in advance,
Chado

Camber Kit

It sounds to me as though you need a camber kit. If you don’t know someone the four wheel kits can run from $200.00-$300.00 and beyond. I may be wrong seeing as I have little experience, but a better man than I told me what I am passing on to you.

Thanks, as I was reading the ad that I got the car from it says he put a camber kit on it, so I will have to talk to the people about the alignment again,

thanks for the info,
Chado

Raise it up till its aligned. Its a pain in the ass, but it works. It seems the lower you go, the more negative camber youll have. I just went through the same thing. Had to raise the car up an inch before I could get it within specs. This is with a camberkit as well.

Will

Will I need a camber kit with a 1.8" drop rear, and a 2" drop in the front. I know this is talked about evryday on our site but I want some opinions. Sorry to be redundant

Anymore…

Any More than a 1" Drop front or rear, your camber is going to be wayyyy off, and not inside the Manufacturers Specs, all you need is a adjusting Camber Bolt, but the Ingles kit I think its 3 degrees up and down…

have them install it, I know Sears will install it for like 20 bucks a side, and then they will align it themselves…for 60, so 100 dollars and your saving your self a set of new tires every 6 months…

Ingles Kit

Is this “Ingles Kit” a legit. product made for our cars? In other words, isit safe and effective for adjusting camber with adrop of 2" to 2.25"?

-Ben

its spelled Ingalls. The company has been around awhile and makes anchor bolt type camber adjustment kits. Its safe and you should be fine after install and alignment. One more company that make camber kits for our cars is Specialty products. Very easy to adjust and also have been around for ages. Let us know if you need more help.

Yep

I am looking for the best bang for my buck. Which kit is preferable for a 2" drop front and 1.8" drop rear, Also when considering ease of installation and price?

hmm…

91honeyac : Ingalls…

I nearly died. I hate black ice. Car is lowered 3" with these 40series paradas…it snowed and I didn’t expect it. Thought I was gonna die. :frowning: almost went in a ditch
