Hey all, I’ve never done any kind of suspension work to my car before and now i am about to try and put some B&G coils on her. Its supposed to be a 2.25" drop, which will look pretty nice i think. Anyway my question is… How long do you think it would take me, Being a newb and all.? And is there anything i should look out for, so i dont go getting introuble and have to take it to a shop to finish?? Thanks in advance guys/gals.
When we lowered my car last week w/ Eibach Sportlines 1.8F 1.5R, we had a lot of trouble taking off the bolt from the shocks connected to the control arms. So we didn’t take that off and we loosen up the bolts on the trailing arm and such until we can lower the arms so we can take out the spring. took us almost 2 hours to do it…
Also, one other question… would i need an alignment after i’m all done.
Thanks

Thanks
you’ll need a camber kit and then an alignment.
if i were you i’d set aside the whole weekend just in case you run into some trouble. Depending on where you live some stuff might be rusted, you might not have the right tool, a bolt might snap… Plus you’re gonna have to go slow because you’ve never done it before. So, start early saturday, if all goes well it shouldn’t take more than 4hrs. But, if you run into trouble, or have to put up with less than decent tools, it might take longer. and if something breaks you may need part of sunday as well.
hey jaylo, got pics?
dont look straight at the top of the shocks while u are popping the spring…thats some advice…oh ya and dont hold em either while u are popping them…
my boy was installing his springs and the bushing that is around the bolt that goes in the control arm broke off…the honda place around here told him he had to get a whole new control arm…he got the fronts done in like 30 minutes to 45 minutes…just beware of the rear…If the bushing breaks, KYB sells those bushing for like 35 bucks…maybe buy those before…
WD-40, a friend to help you, and a second car you can use to go to parts store just because you dont have the right tool… watch those cv boots too…
Did anyone install struts before lowering?

not yet but i will soon, i still have like 1 to 1 and a half inch of space between the wheel well and the tires, half worn tires on 17"
I remember you had a pic of your car w/ Eibach, that was way low I don’t know how that happened
I have about the same space between the fender and wheel in the back, but like only half an inch up front… Still don’t know why! (but suspecting the front coils were cut)
