Lowering spring install opinions needed.

Just installed some H&R Race (2+" drop) springs on a 90 Teg, using stock shocks … and when installing the new springs on the strut the spring would not remain seated firmly on the strut even with the nut tightened completely. Is this normal because of the drop? Or is it due to worn struts?
They are seated fine now on the car, with it’s weight on it … want to make sure it’s safely installed tho. (and yes we installed washers in the rear and Ingalls poly camber kit up front)
TIA.

UP

heeeeeeeeeeelp

I’m running the same way.
itz coolz, just everytime u lower the car back down from working on it, make sure the spring is in place correctly.
btw, did you cut ur bump stops?

K thanks Max.

Yep … we cut them about 3/4 … little bitches!

what Max said :stuck_out_tongue:
my springs pop out evertime I raise my car up…scares the crap out of everyone when I put my car back down and the hear the springs popping back into place lol

same thing here! I have Skunk2 coilovers and they are all the way to the bottom on the fronts and every time I raise the car, I have a buddy watch one side while I watch the other because I lift my car from the front since NO hydro jack can get under the car from the side since its sooooooo low

hey thanks guys much appreciated!

you can try putting it down for enough so you can just get your arms in the wheel well…then let it down a little more and check again.

I have the same problem with height…where my car is right now the only way I can jack my car up is to put the stock jack under the front tow hook (still have to lift it up a little) jack that up…then put the hydro jack under the middle beam

I just put in my progress springs on friday and was kinda wondering the same thing thx everyone for your help.

also i just wanted to say that I have always kept some 2x4 blocks in the garage for whenever i needed to jack up my cars. i just lay the blocks down in front of the wheels and pull up on them. that way the hydrojack can get underneath and back out again from the car its a hell of a lot easier than using multiple jacks. hth
