springs only? I would suggest going with shock/spring. Whats your budget?
If you dont have budget I would suggest something like Tein SS, all the cars i’ve rode in with tein ss were super smooth. Mr2, DC integra, acura CL, Lexus SC400.
yea thats what i was gonna go with was tein. i found some tein high -tech for 197.00 with shipping. i have enough for shocks as well but i need tires so i can put my wheels on. there 8 spoke bsa motorsports blackw/chrome lip and the cars white so hopefully it wont turn out bad
If your gonna do springs and don’t have money to do shocks or if you need to do something else with that money then I would hold off on springs. If you do springs without doing shocks with it, then your gonna blow the shocks on your car if they are your originals and even if they aren’t and they are unadjustable you have a good chance at blowing them too. If I were you I would buy the tires you need because that is first and foremost as far as safety goes. Then, I would save up for shocks. I am a fan of Koni Yellow shocks. That’s what I would recommend for shocks.
if you dont change the shock with the springs, you wont be happy with the bouncy
i had my car lowerd about 1.5-1.8 with GC coilovers and stock shocks
spring rate wasnt harsh just lil stiffer than the stock
i was happy , its a lot better than stock
make sure you get the right spring rate for you and how much you wanna lower it
thanks for the input guys
keep the info commin :salute:
I have h&r springs on my car… stock struts… they are better then stock but honestly unless you are going for looks only… I’d invest in shocks as well… I bought my car this way and the cornering is less then desirable…
So if you are only going for looks… do it… rides quality is prob. 6 or 7 out of 10… might be better then your current stock setup…
But if you want performance, and are interested in corner ability and whatnot… invest in the whole shabang… it’s been brought to my knowledge that h&r springs have the same rate as itr springs… so with the right shocks you should have a nice setup for some fun in the corners… That’s the route I’m going.
Also, I had tein s on my wrx… good stance but pretty soft as I remember. I switched out to eibachs and was pretty happy with those. reduced alot of body lean in the corners with springs only… mind you my car only had 3k miles on it so I had brand new shocks.
thnx guys
i think ive decided im just gonna sell my car
