i have a 91 ls which i’m completely rebuilding the motor on. i brought 97 ITR pistons to put in the engine and i have a few questions.
1.) do you really have to mill a 1mm of the rods to get them to fit in the pistons. i have 4 people tell me 2 differentt things.
2.) what kind of HP, Torque, 1/4 mile times am i looking at with the following:
-ITR pistons
-ported head w/ stainless steel valves and high compression rate springs
-DC 421 header
-DC catback exhaust
-Aem Cold air intake
3.) are there any other minimal cost items will show some performance gains? this car will need to be a daily driver, and last till i by something a little newer. i would just like a little more pep in the thing.

yes you do have to mill the pin end of the rod, i had to do the same when i put my PR3 pistons on, i have put together the same set up that you are talkin about, youre lookin at low 15’s or high 14’s in a g2 depending on how good your head is ported, if youre going w/ aftermarket valvetrain try not to mix brands, just pick one that can provide every thing like crower cams, crower springs, etc. and about the eagle rods, go for it and good luck.

Does eagle make non-floating rods? Cause if they don’t your in for a surprise when you try to hang ITR pistons on them. I’ve posted my personal experience several times, but peeps keep suggesting eagle rods with ITR pistons or other honda pistons. Maybe i’m missing something? Do research BEFORE you go and buy a set of eagle or any other forged rods.
