LS-S or GS-R?

For my next car I want a 5spd gen2 and leave my auto as a DD.

Which has a better engine, an LS-S or a GS-R?
I know the GS-R has VTEC. I don’t know much about LS-S.

Pretty sure the LS-S has the vanilla B18A1

LS-S has a regular B18 engine.
