LS/VTEC Head Re-Drilling?

I was just wondering if I will need to get my b18a1 block redrilled to fit a 96 civic si head. Thanks.

you just gotta get the dowel pins widened on the head, just get the golden eagle lsvtec kit it just moves them to a different position, theyre also included in the kit

I used the Full Race LSVTEC kit. As you can see, their kit offers tapered dowel pins. No need to bore out the openings.

OEM (top) vs Full Race (bottom)

wow. i had no idea they made tapered dowel pins. you do have to tap the head for the external oil line unless sensei has some new cool spaceage technology for that too!

Is it just me or didn’t they not make a 96 Si???

Power Rev Racing(P2R) sells the tapered dowel pins also.

so does golden eagle. and yes, you still have to tap and plug the existing oil line on the head, but you can easily do that yourself. just buy the correct tap and some good liquid thread sealant and you’re good to go

pact man is right…THEY DIDNT MAKE A SI MODEL IN 96!!! so…u sure its not a d series head?

I know it is a b16 head the guy might have been wrong about the year though.

think canada had a 96 si.not 100% sure tho.

They do, but not with a b16, I’ll tell ya that much lol.

Weren’t the Canadian Si’s with the B16 branded as Sir’s?
