Still having difficulties with starting my ls/vtec. i now have the correct distributor I believe from a jdm b16a round plug but i had to shave one of the mounting holes off in order to get it to fit and just by sighting it up i am about 45 deg off in the rotor to camshaft reference points. Therefore that leads me to believe that I either got shafted for the wrong dist or i have the wrong timing belt. I used a gsr timing belt and the dist i recieved looked just like the stock one that i had. If anyone can help me shed some light on my stiuation it would be helpful i am tired of running my head around in circles and finding no answers. Thank You Paul
You say you’re using a GSR timing belt. The only time you use a Vtec timing belt is when you use a Vtec water pump. If you still have a LS water pump you should be using a LS timing belt. Oh and if you have a B16a distributor you shouldn’t have to shave any of the legs off of it. One more thing…you have the correct year distributor though…well that’s if you have a 90 like your name implies.
