Hey guys i have a few questions. I plan on doing an ls/vtec set up and want to use zdyne with it (since its going to be turbo also) my questions are: Do you need a knock sensor with zdyne? and what will i need to do for wiring?
any pictures/ any feed back would be GREATLY appriciated.
TIA
email zdyne duh?
It is based off an LS ecu so there won’t be a knock sensor coding. All the info is on their website if you read it. It’s a direct plug and play and about 3-4 wires to wire for vtec and other features you want to add and such…
no you dont need knock sensor
thats what i can’t find though… which wirers and where do they go?
Do you already ahve the ZDYNE? etiehr way. it tells you what wires need to be wired to what… it’s basically jsut to the vtec solenoid and what not. there are a few other wires tht you connect to clutch for FTL/FTS etc as well.
How much is a good ole ZDYNE Gold SECU with 1-wire and Boost go for these days from Bill? Still about $900?
I just dont understand…
No you wont need a knock sensor as others had said and the only wire you should need to hook up should be from the ECU to the VTEC solenoid…not sure what pin it is from a ZDYNE ecu.
Just out of curiosity…have you looked at TurboEdit? Might save you $900…
I have a write-up as well for using VTEC with OBD0 vehicles…

no basic Zdyne with 1 wire vtec covnersion is about 350. it’s the boosted versino that is like a damn grand :’(
there is a seperate wire comngi off the ECU for the VTEC wire, but there also is the pin for VTEC so if you car is already OBD0 VTEC< it’ll plug and play and vtec will run fine without ahving to rewire with the external wire.
