I have an Ingalls Poly front camber kit - and I need to grease the bushing inside each of them. I am pretty sure this requires me having to take the camber kits out. Is this a tough thing to do?.. what tools do i need and any suggestions or tips? Do I have to take anything else apart to get to the camber kits? Can anyone explain “packing” the bushing with grease? do i just smother grease everwhere? Any help is really appreciated!
A basic socket set will do just fine…just jack the car up and remove the 2 bolts on either side of the shock tower get get the camber kit loose from the frame…I just used Valvoline Syn Grease and lubed it up real good…bout 2yrs now and still no squeeks…HTH
thanks man!.. due to your recomendation earlier… i went and bought that Valvoline synthetic grease. Now the bolts i loosen… those are on top of the shock tower in my engine bay? and to lube the bushing… do I have to take the bushing out of the camber kit? Stinks that i have to pay to get it aligned AGAIN after this… but… tis ok:)
Yes, U will have to unbolt 3 little bolts that holds ur underhood fuse box to get to the 2 bolts on the passenger side and u gotta move a hose bracket on ur drivers side to get to the 2 bolts on that side but it should be a piece of cake. I would definitely remove the 2 bolts that connect the camber kit to the A-Arm as well and just dunk the bolt treads into the grease and get it real lubed up…hell, i’d leave excess grease so it can ooze out when u put it back in the bushings…dont forget to get the sides of the A-Arm also…have fun!
