Oil companies spend millions to develop and test motor oils. They find the right mixtures of chemicals to get the desired effect. Now throw crap in there that adds stuff and suddenly, you don’t know what it does. It throws the mix off from what the oil company meant it to be. Oh sure, the bottle SAYS it does this and that, but how do YOU know?
Besides, think of this… if there were some additives that did any good, don’t you think the oil companies would sell the stuff themselves? Why would they leave money on the table and let other guys like Lucas take it? The additive market is worth millions, no company would let that go if they could help it.
i hear you too but i’m trying to help. do some more research on honda tech and team integra you will find that loud/noizy injectors are not a normal thing as you stated above. jsut because the dealers try to screw people doesnt mean a certain service isnt warranted. my whole point is that it is NOT normal. thats all.
i agree that it’s not NORMAL - but in a 12-year old car, how much IS normal?
think of all the stuff that goes on with our cars that we just consider normal, but if we bought our cars brand new - we’d be like “ummm, what the fuck…”
i have found that, over time, our injectors get notoriously noisy. does it appear to cause any problems? not from what i can see, so i say “yep, thats normal for a 12 year old car.”
