WHERE: Purgatory Chasm in Sutton MA. In the dirt lot up past the chasm pavilion parking area. Its on the right hand side about a 1/3 mile from the park HQ.
Here we go. I vote we try someplace new and have it at Purgatory Chasm in Sutton MA. Its right off 146. They have grills. There’s a decent sized parking area right near one of the picnic spots too. Any Sunday would be good with me, maybe a Saturday if I have enough notice. Whatevers cool though. The usual spots art Colt and Goddard are good too. Anyone else have any other suggestions?
As for when, maybe the weekend of April 24th - 25th, or the next one, May 1st or 2nd?
im coming thru as well. the only thing i ask is to have it on the grass instead off the parking lot where there like no where to sit or grill. i vote Goddard.
sutton sounds good to me all about 40-45 minutes from me so no worries, just gotta settle on a date asap cause i need to take the day off if its a sunday
I’m going to go scope out purgatory tomorrow, see how busy it is around 1 in the afternoon. The reason I’ve got such a boner for this place is I was there this winter and I noticed these things:
works for me, if we end up doing it there just need to get a list of things people can bring might as well take advantage of those grills i can prob grab a couple boxes of burgers and some hotdogs
Just got back, the place was absolutely jammed. No parking in the paved lot where I was hoping we’d get a spot, or even by the reservation HQ, which I’ve never seen full before. Maybe its because this is the first non-holiday nice weather sunday we’ve had around he so far. I’m going to scope it out again next weekend just to see. There was however, another decent lot up past the chasm proper that had tables and grills, but its a dirt lot. It looks like we would have the whole place to ourselves. What do you guys think?
i don’t think dirt is gonna bother the cars i don’t really care tho, where ever you guys meet is where i’ll show up… but its def the 2nd right gonna request the day off 2morrow
