Maaco questions

i know threads about maaco have possibly been made but i ddnt remember seeing this question asked or answered…what is the usual amount of time you think it would take them to have my car ready to drive on 65-70 temp weather outside? im planning on going with them only b/s im getting tired of the half assed job my car has …and i dnt have the crazy amount of income to biggen with any help will work thnx ahead

oh and yes i i do know and understand they are not the best or high quality kind of work but in my situation i dnt have a choice

as i tell people that go to maccco…do your own bodywork and primer. They don’t do the primer from what i’ve seen and heard. My friend had his body kit for his g3 painted there. It was originally red when he bought he kit, had it painted for the gunmetal gray of his car…started peeling and chipping a week later. I took a look at it, doesn’t even look like they sanded/scuffed the red paint, just painted over it without any primer…so the moral of the story…primer it yourself, and probably mask off whatever you don’t want to get painted, i’ve seen people come out with taillights and there mufflers painted

also if you go to a maaco shop or call they would have a pretty good idea of how long your car will be there.

^^^ Good advice, do as he suggests.

do any prep work you want done yourself. they pretty much roll your car in a both the way you give it to them and then spray. and dont do a clear and color mix, just dilutes the paint. get a two stage 1 color 1 clear if you want a clear coat.

nvm i found a better spot close thread if needed thnx or keep it up …maybe it will help others

If it’s just parts that you want to paint, do it yourself. You can do it better then macco. I plan to paint my bodykit myself and I don’t have a air compresser or spray gun. I found this company that mix the paint from the color code of your car and mix it into a spray can.

This is for a couple of cans only

This is for a bulk if you plan on doing the whole car. Cheap this way.
