magnetic oil drain plug

i just received my plug it looks great cant wait to use it. i took a pic of it holding this cam gear so you guys can see the strength of the magnet. ohh and the cam gears are in the for sale forum as well im holding the cam gear in the air the magnet is attatched to only 1 allen screw and its holding it up strong they are on sale on PasswordJDM.com for 20 bucks

are those worth buying?

why not? it helps keeping metal from recycling back into the oil which could potentially damage bearing surfaces…although if pieces came out, itd be to late already…probably be best for rebuilt motors

and some manufacturers use them as stock equipment…

BTW rev-auto sells them as well

well not really but the damage could already be done

get some magnets and stick em to the back side of the oil pan above the drain plug, when you do an oil change remove them and pull the plug, all the shaving will release and flow out with the oil. works great.
