Main fuel relay???

Hi guys!
I have a problem with starting my DB1, when i turn the key to start the car i can hear the main fuel relay click but the fuel pump wont prime, so then i wait for a few minutes and the main fuel relay clicks again and then the fuel pump primes and the car starts. Some times it takes to long for the second click.
I did replace the main fuel relay with a new one…
So what do you guys think would be the problem?

Any thing would help, Thanks!

It could be a number of things, from a poor ground or power connection to an ECU/ECM problem.

Do you have a multimeter, your going to need one to do some testing at the PGM-FI Main Relay. 94

The ignition kill circuit on my cheapie car alarm went bad, shorting that out helped starting for me.

Yea I do have a volt meter, so how and what do test?

Drop the PGM-FI Main Relay so you have better access to it.

Set meter to DC volts and test the yellow/white lead, [fuse 38 - 10A] should test as 12V+ at all times.

Test the black/yellow lead, [fuse 24 -15A] should test as 12V+ as soon as ign. switch is turned on.

Test the two yellow/blacks, both should test as 12V+ as soon as ign. switch is turned on, one is the injector power and it will stay “on”, the other is the fuel pump power and it should stay on for a few seconds, [as system primes] if one of them does not turn on for a few seconds, switch meter to continuity and test the green/black lead, it should test as ground for a few sec. when ign. switch is turned on, if not you have and ECU/ECM problem, if it does test as ground for a few seconds but there is no output on one of the yellow/blacks, you have a PGM-FI Main Relay problem…

If both the yellow/black leads test as 12V+, [one for a few sec.] when you turn on the ign. switch, but fuel pump does not prime, you have a fuel pump problem. 94

Cool man thanks for all the help, ill give it try this weekend and I will let you guys know how it goes.
