Main Relay Problem

I recently swapped a b18b1 into my DA and am having problems getting it started.

When I turn the key to start the car the main relay doesn’t click like it should, so right now I’m trying to figure out why my main relay isn’t turning on. I know the main relay works because I pulled it off of my CRX and I checked with a dmm to make sure it was getting power, which it is, and I’ve already checked my fuses.

I know the ECU isn’t the problem, but is there something else (like the distributor) that controls the main relay?

I have a simliar problem with my car. I wish there were a few more people on here with more experience in this area. I am pretty sure my car came with the vtec b17 engine but was swapped out for the b18 engine. I don’t know if it ever ran right because I bought it not running. I have had it running since but am having the same problems you are. I will let you know if I get it figured out though. I used to own a 74 MGB and the forums for that make was tremendous. So much knowledge, of course not as sophisticated, but still anything could be answered by a lot of the members.

Good luck with your car.

check for power and ground at the fuse.
you should post this in the electrical section.

and an MG is a completely different demographic lol

I agree completely about the difference in the cars and complexities, but it was the help from the forums I was commenting about mainly. I have looked through many of the questions involving a similar problem I am having with my car and the replies are very scarce and not very technical with the Acura’s campared to the technical advise from the MG forum. True they are completely different groups, but still car enthusiasts. I also own a 2005 Pontiac GTO and have had questions about programming, engine, transmission and other areas and have been impressed with the depth of knowledge there too. I was and still am hoping to find that same depth with the technical aspecs of the Acura’s, especially the various problems that need better and more thurough answers.

I will repost my question in the electrical section like you suggested.

Thanks

Russ
