I recently changed my oil and about a week later my engine wasnt running how it should… So instinctivly I checked my oil. The dipstick came out almost completely dry. I popped out the sparkplug wires and noticed a little oil has gathered in them. and the head seemed to have oil on it as well. Where might this leak be at? and how can I fix it?
wait there shouldn’t be oil there? When i pull my sparkplugs out, there’s tonz of oil on them.
You need to change your spark plug grommets and your valve cover gasket first. That is for sure.
You might also want to check your cam end seal and distributor o-ring too. Those two will leak oil down the passenger side of the engine.
How much oil did you put in when you did your oil change??

If you only put a quart of oil in after you drained all your oil, you might need to add abother quart before you can get an accurate reading. The Oil filter will take up pretty close to 3/4 of a quart…
Oh, and make sure you let the engine cool down quite a bit before checking the oil levels.
