Just installed the drivers side of my CDM conversion.
Im not worried about the wiring yet…
The upper mounting location…?
What has everyone else done to get a threaded mount there?
I opened the hole slightly and up sized to a 12x1.25 thread instead of the DEALER ONLY 11x1.25 bolts.
I welded a nut to the reinforced portion of the pillar and used a factory bolt location from the lap retractor.
It appears to have some extra slack, has anyone else come across this?
As for the female portion of the belt, I’ve yet to address this.
Looking at the pics, Im hesitant to drill through the hump at that location.
Is this area reinforced? Do you just use extremely large washers behind it?

If you look at my pictures, I weld a nut to the back of a 1/4 in plate and then welded the plate onto the pillar… the same with the exhaust tunnel. That way there is little risk of the nut pulling out. When I take the interior back out and remove all the sound deadening I will put up some better pictures. As soon as I can find the manual pillar molding for a db1 I am going to reuse those seatbelts on my four door.
