Ok, I have searched and found a parts list of everything you need to do the manual seatbelt conversion but they were all canadian parts and people saying you need all this crap because it black and ours are grey and it wont match.
I dont want to get canadian stuff or jdm stuff i want to put my rear seatbelts up front because i no longer have rear seats, does anyone know if this would work? or would it be a waste of time and just be better to get the canadian stuff and do it that way?
I hate the auto seatbets and I think that the manuals hold you inplace better and they are just better overall, also they are more comfortable IMO, and i again say I hate the auto seatbelts.
LMK, any and all input is appreciated and I thank you for the time taken to post, later.
you have to use cdn seatbelts. The rear seatbelts are not long enough, and the locking mechanism will also not work properly. The cdn stuff is black, but will look better than the grey usdm paneling.
preston man I have given up. I pray someone with 3 bolts holding their seats in , or improperly mounted harnesses (or in this case shoulder belts from the rears ghetto rigged to the front) doesnt hit someone I know or care about.
haha, I hear ya. I pray that these kids dont get into wrecks with belts attached like this. From the impact they will rip the belts from the new locations and basically they will move around as if they didnt even have a belt on. They could seriously eat some dash, or use their heads as a windshield remover. Like I said, I pray they dont get into accidents.
No offense but 90DATEG when I was at ur house and checked that out it didnt look to be all that safe. Umm maybe thats why your car didnt pass inspection? or maybe it didnt pass because everything on the inside is gone? I was dumb and thought the rear seatbelts were the same as the cdn or jdm front manuals, Imma just do what everyone is saying and do it the right way by buying the cdn ones and doing that upgrade.
That is the shittiest seat belt install I’VE EVER SEEN. :bang:
DA90LS - Just stick with the OEM US seatbelts. The Canadian ones are nice, but in order to mount them, you have to already have the holes pre-drilled and re-inforced from the factory for it to be a simple and safe install. If you don’t have the pre-drilled holes, I wouldn’t bother with it.
I might have a couple more pictures if anyone is interested. You will need the jdm/canadian seatbelt assembly, a/b/c pillar covers, top rear seatbelt covers (black instead of grey). There is a good amount of welding involved as you need to weld a nut for the upper mounting point, a bracket for the bottom of the assembly, and another nut for the female side of the harness. The top mount has a hole predrilled where the nut needs to be, but from the harness side you will have to eyball the mounting point.
Ok now the other part to this is, once everything is mounted you need to deal with the seatbelt warning wiring. How do you eliminate the beeping when it alerts you that your seatbelt is not clipped in even though it is, because the plugs on the automatic seat belt reel/buckle and the jdm/cdm buckles are different. 4 wires vs. 2 wires respectively. Any info on this is much appreciated.
All you have to do to get the buzzer to shut up is to unclip both wire harnesses from the Little silver box behind the passenger side kick panel, Where the jump wire is. I just pulled the automatic seat belts and the lapbelts from my GS and that dam buzzer wouldn’t shut up, It was driving me nuts. When the door was open and w the engine running the buzzer would give you the five beeps and then turn off, But as soon as you close the door the beeping continued at double pace and would’t shut up. :ohyeah:
Regarding the warning sensor…is there an aproaperite sensor for the CDM Integra that could be swapped for the USDM. This way you still have the complete functionality of the system, rather than bypassing it. Also, when you drill the holes to mount the pieces, is there already some type of marking or impression on the car already, so I know where to drill, or do I have to figure it out myself?
Its been a long time since I have been on these threads, I sold my DA to my brother wich he bought the CANADIAN conversion belts, we will try to attemp this and keep record for all you to see, on the wiring
Myles, on the upper b pillar there is a hole already, but you will have to make a bracket for the lower mount on the recoil assembly, and there is no markings on the center tunnel. You will have to eyeball those. The one think Id like to point out is that you are endowing your safty to these belts. Make sure you take your time on them and dont cut any corners. I was just in a serious wreck in my teg and fortunately both seatbelts did their job and my reinforcements held, but it could have been different.
