I’m currently rebuilding the engine in my 91 (b18a1)
When i removed the engine/trans i didnt label the two hoses coming from the trans to the firewall.
i removed the power steering assembly but have left some of the piping just because its a pain.
it seems like one of the power steering hoses connects to the trans, is this correct?
i obviously want to reconnect any trans hoses.
which hose goes where? i don’t care about recconecting the p/s.
Also is it safe to use 75-90 in my trans?
my manual says 10-40 but that doesnt seem right.
Thanks guys.
The VehicleSpeedSensor uses the powersteering fluid for lubrication. You can just loop the lines together and not connect them to the powersteering lines. Just make sure to add a little fluid to the VSS before looping the lines together.

As far as the correct fluid to use… 10-40 is what Honda recommended back when our cars were first produced. Since then, Honda has started making their own fluid. I’d use the Honda ManualTransFluid just to be safe. I know manual trannies are less picky than Automatics… but still, I like to use Honda fluids.

So would i loop both pairs of lines? like loop both on the trans then both on the firewall?
i thought for sure one had gear oil in it.
thanks
The metal hard-lines that connected to the VSS run to the PowerSteering system. The VSS uses PS fluid.
Loop the two lines on the tranny back to themselves. It takes like 3-4" of hose to do this.
As far as looping the hard lines together, you can do that as well. But if you pulled the whole PS system out, it would be better (in my opinion) to pull the hardlines out as well. Makes things cleaner and then just loop the steering rack like the picture I posted on that link.
It is a little difficult to turn the wheel at a dead stop, but if rolling it turns fine.
Let me know if this doesnt make sense, I’m kind of out of it right now heh.
Im sure 10-30 is fine as well, I’m just saying 10-40 is what the Acura Service Manual calls for.

Haha i figured that out after a nap, im pretty dead lately too from work and then pulling the car apart and trying to remember alot of stuff,
apparently im “forgetful” (according to my woman) haha.
thanks.
Do the intake and exhaust rocker arms have a difference? they fell all over the place before i could bag and tag em.
The rocker arms are interchangeable… non-vtec intake rocker arms, and non-vtec exhaust rocker arms are the same.
Vtec intake rocker arms are the same as vtec exhaust rocker arms as well.
Obviously the non-vtec ones aren’t interchangeable with vtec ones, and vice versa.
