Ever since a DC Sports CC 4-2-1 header was installed on my 91 GS the check engine light comes on when I drive the car HARD under deceleration or braking… It NEVER comes on under acceleration. After that the CHECK ENGINE light comes on with the ABS light and the computer blinks an error code that claims it’s the MAP (manifold absolute pressure sensor). When the light is on the car runs TERRIBLE it bucks and jerks smells funny and has no power. FYI car has APEXi S-AFC I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Forgot to mention this only happens under DECELERATION or BRAKING at speeds over 130 KPH or so. Its fine under that
but annoying none the less !
it sounds like whoever tuned the afc may have put in a value that is too low for deceleration. I dont know much about the afc or its programability but ido know the map sensor quite well. check to make sure the hose running to your map sensor is in good condition and is leads to the vacuum line off the passenger side of the TB. Other than that it sounds like it maybe a fuel problem
