you stop the leak by fixing whats making it leak. in most cases a gasket or seal of some type. Other times there are actually physical problems with other parts. Like a hole in the oil pan. Which for example could be be fixed by cleaning the surface around the crack/hole, ruffing it up a little, then filling it with JB weld. Not necessarily a permanent fix, but at least something to get you by.
what is the exact problem you’re having?
it seems to be leaking from around the drain plug. i’ll do some more jb weld today, as i tried before, but there was oil there and i couldn’t get the jb weld to dry effectively
i’ll tell you how it goes…
thanks
I had a leak from the drain plug cause I guess the guy I bought it from or someone put the jeck on the oil pan and didn’t put a block of wood between it and F…ed it up. All you have to do is go to your local parts store and get an oversized drain plug. I bought one for my car and it fixed the leak. Now it’s not leaking. Easy to install, just put it in like a normal drain plug and it’ll fix it. Shouldn’t cost more than a couple of bux.
if you want to fix it easily, a cheap kinda ugly way to do it is to use rtv sealent (silicone) where ever it’s leaking. I put silicone around my old drain plug as a quick fix before I got the oversized plug. Works pretty good and stopped the leak. Just a couple of options for you. Good luck.
