MD: DB2 GSR 5th gear set

Need a 5th gear set from a YS1 transmission that came in a DB2 GSR. If you have this please email me at chris21012@gmail.com for fastest response. Thanks.

Lol, I was the exact opposite. Looking for a 92/93 LS tall gear 5th gear set to replace the GS-R YS1 short gear 5th.
It took me a while to find a good transmission.

You might want to post in the GSR DB2 forum on Facebook.

Do you still have the gear set you removed?

I keep all my original parts, sorry. The Facebook GSR forum I mentioned is : 92-93 DB2 Acura Integra GSR
someone there might be able to help you out.

What if I told you this gear set would help me win a National Championship in Honda Challenge. And I would pay good money for it…

How much is “good money”? You will probably have better luck finding a complete YS1 opposed to just the gearset. I saw your post on Facebook, hopefully something pops up there for ya. The facebook groups seem to be the place to find parts now although it really is a chore compared to the old days where we used much more organized forums. I’m becoming an old man.

You may also want to try some of the transmission rebuilders - syncrhotech & Gearspeed.

I’ll keep an eye out for ya.

Look in the for sale forum under OEM / GSR / Aftermarket Goods.
GSR YS1 With LSD no price is listed, but it wouldn’t hurt to contact the seller.

Thanks guys.

Id go $200 for the gear set

You could buy a brand new 5th gear set for an ITR. As far as I know after '92 all the trans shared the larger main shaft so you should be able to pick and choose from quite a selection of gear ratios. Ratios look like .880 (GS-R) and .848 (ITR).

I have an ITR transmission. You cannot purchase the GSR gearset from Honda anymore it is discontinued.

have you gone to a dealer and ask them to do a nation wide search? I’ve been able to find quite a few “discontinued” parts that way. The websites like OEM Acura Parts only show what is in the main warehouses, not active inventory at dealerships. The dealerships have the ability to search active dealer inventories if you ask nicely.

The he last time I did this I found the last NOS 90/91 drivers side coupe tail light in Bakersfield, CA. These have shown discontinued for years!

Yes, HPD has searched for me. They have come up with nothing. Thanks for the idea though.
