Has anyone in here ever used a Mega Squirt EMS on their Honda? I have seen them work on GM cars and it is the cheapest EMS you can get. That is if you can solder!
Noone has any expirance with the Megasquirt? I am looking at one for price and tuniblity. I am about to do a drag build on one of my DA’s. I have run Hondata and I have one car that has a reprogramible chip, but I am looking at a high boost build into the upper 20’s psi range. Noone around where I live is doing this, so I am kind of in new ground here.
I have heard very good things about it from a friend at work that was going to use it on his datsun, but if you did use it you would probably be starting from scratch. like no base maps to start with or anything…I think mega squirt is more doing it yourself entirely then helps you monitor what all is going on, hondata has more support from already being used and trouble shooted of course…why cant you run that much boost with an S300 and a boost controller?
Here is what I am looking at:

i wouldn’t get anywhere near the DIY unless your extremely good at soldering. one little mess up and thats it.
I have been soldering for a while. I have Socketed about 5 ECUs of my own and I don’t know how many for friends. I have built swap harnesses for mine and my friends cars. Plus I have built many of modded Xbox controllers. I think I am ready, I just wanted to hear from people that have used the MegaSquirt.
I had it on my bmw e30, easy install I did all the soldering first time and it was not hard, the hard part was finding someone to tune it not many places have experience with it
