Hey everyone,
I bought a megan header off of ebay and I wanted to know if anyone else whos bought one has had these problems as well.
The header was 6" too long, it did not bolt up to the downpipe
The flange was clocked wrong
The downpipe hits the oilpan and the cross member, not the sub frame, the smaller member under there
Other than that, I had no problems. It was no problem because I wirk at a performance exhaust / speed shop, so I could modify it to fit.

I hope you paid $65 shipped like I did.
Well, it’s too cold out now, but I’ll find out if I run into any problems when I do the install.
the middle bar is just there to keep ur car more ridgity its not really need as you can see the 92+ GSR does not have them due to the header.
So you could probably take it off and fit it under there instead of modifying ur header to fit beside the flange being weld on wrong side i dont know

The total you paid was 65 dollars with shipping already or 65 for the shipping alone? I paid 120 shipped for mine.
I paid $130 for mine shipped and it fit like a champ. Maybe yours was for a 4door or something cuz it was too long?
i believe the 4dr are same just the piping from the catback to muffler being a lil longer?
where is the o2 sensor hole located? show us some picture

I’m sure his O2 should be located on the exhaust runner, seeing how he has a 90-91 Teg.
My car is a 4dr, just put it on the weekend.
Everything went well.
The only thing that didn’t line up was the bracket that bolts to the downpipe to hold it in place.
I washed it after the install, and now it’s a nice rainbow color.

sounds like you got one from the wrong year.
I bought mine from Megan Racing for 189 shipped…kinda high but oh well. :dunno:
ITs prob for a four door. When you buy stuff on Ebay then can sometimes be wrong
This is probably your O2 location, I had one on my teg. I think its junk, so its hanging on the wall now. Waste of money, if you really plan on making power N/A invest the money in a quality header. This thing is not gonna cut it.
Will a 90-91 Megan Header fit a 92-93 GSR?

You get what you pay for. My megan header I’ve been using for 2 years now doesnt look “cool” but it does the damn job and I payed like $100 for it.
If you are getting a header for looks alone I suggest you open up your wallet and stop complaining.
My header bolted right up everything fits perfectly.
iveeno did you use the bolts that came with the megan header?
i remeber reading someting about this and i think the reason the header turned “brown” is because you installed it without gloves on or didnt clean it after you installed it. someone told me that if the oil from your hands/engine bay etc is all over the header, when it heats up it turns nasty colors, and you cant clean it off.
