Megan Racing and WeaponR Coilover Sleeves

hi,

i know that there have been posts already about weaponR and Megan Racing coilover sleeves. ive been searching team-integra, h-t, and g2ic for some decent information and i have found some helpful stuff, but for the most of it all i can find is “THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN COVERED” kind of crap. and these posts were dated years ago.

WeaponR’s setup uses 2 springs, a main spring and some kind of helper spring that has a low spring rate that sits ontop of it.

Megan Racing’s coilover sleeve is just like a regular adjustable coilover sleeve.

I’ve heard good things about Megan Racing products. like their FULL coilovers and exhaust components. but i want to know if any of you have had any experience with thier coilover SLEEVES. Not their exhausts and other products. If your friends use or used Megan Racing Coilover sleeves, then great. id be greatful if you can provide me with info from their experience with them.

Same goes for weaponR. they do a lot with intake stuff, and i know if they are good at that, then that doesnt mean they make awesome suspension products. But if you or a friend had experience with them, good or bad, fill me in about it. greatly appreciated.

im trying to lower my car more in the front to get that raked look. i am currently running on some skunk2 lowering springs and tokico blues:flame: im going to change my shocks to so dont let me having the blues influence or change any info you can provide me [ex: dont get them if you have the blues/ its gonna be hella bounce/ etc]

i know that the shocks effect the ride quality, so with any info you can provide me, include what shock setup that was paired with the springs.

YES KONI AND GC ARE THE BEST I KNOW.

Ive read too many suspension articles, so i know the do it right the first time, why pay twice?, dreaded tokico BLOWS, springs/coilovers/airbags/no springs/floating cars ride like shit articles. eBay stuff. and everything that follows.

And since i put “Ive read too many suspension articles” please dont terrorize me for saying that by trying to be smart.:ethug:

Im just trying to find some reviews and info on these items. And as you can see im trying to make the best with a very low budget.

So just help me out with any info on these 2 products!

Thanks for the help in advanced.

ps. if there is any other coilover sleeve thats worth the buy thats not like skunk2 or GC then feel free to tell me about it too!

I would try the Weapon R’s, I was thinking about getting those myself before.
The helper springs really help, but the main spring looks kinda short itself.

I got those little helper springs on my full coilovers, and they make a difference from my other Koni/GC. Mainly because I cant lower my car that far or else I will have a small spring gap. I know the GC top hats solve this problem, but that’s just more money invested.

The Megan’s look cheap like $40 Ebay Coilovers.

I’m running the Megan coilovers paired with Tokico Illuminas. The ride is very smooth and mellow ONLY if the setting on the Illuminas is at it’s softest setting (I think a 1). Very streetable/daily driveable. You won’t slam into the road if you were to hit a pothole or bump.

From settings 2 and 3, it gets a lil stiffer and you can feel more of the bumps… BUT from a 4 and 5 setting, don’t even think about driving your shit on the street cuz you’ll bounce from lane to lane! Maybe it’s good for the track although I never tried it.

For reference, I’m lowered 2.5+ inches all around so maybe that will affect on how your ride is when using the Megan/Iluumina combo. I’ve had the combo for about a year now and last I’ve checked (2 weeks ago) the bumpstops were shot cuz I reused the OEM ones when I installed it.

If you’re dead set on using the Megan/Iluumina combo, I suggest you go get your top hats modded for more shock travel so you won’t be riding your bumpstops. Hope this helps…

well as of now ive heard 2 decent reviews about the megans, and 1 bad about the weapon r’s [not your reply stokeless] so i guess im leaning more to the megans right now. but im still doing more research before buying.

thanks again for the replies.

Any more info from anyone?
