Megan Racing Header

Just bought one off of EBay. Paid $88.00 for the “ceramic coated” (also see that they carry “stainless”). Shipping was a bit pricey @ $25.00.

Anyways, they came in fine and installed perfectly. The welds look good and it’s a 4-2-1 design. Car feels a little less “torquey” but does seem to rise in RPM’s a little faster (maybe this is mental).

They seem like a good value, instead of spending $200+ on DC Sports or the like.

They have a website http://www.meganracing.com but the pricing is about $180 for what I paid $88 for. I bought them from “built4race”.

Hope this helps someone…

yeah i’ve been looking into them. could you tell me tat collector size that yours had? and also, do you have upgraded inteak and larger exhaust? I have the intake and full high flow exhaust. i was hoping the last piece would actually help it a bit more. I like th torque…lol. I am so trilled with how my integra is turnign out, I hope these have the size collector i need.

Well from what I have read from that link, it states that its a “direct bolt on” so I would assume it has a 2" collector, could be wrong but when most companys state that its becuase its made to fit without any modification.

Yeah, I’m with Integ21. It’s a factory type fitting. So 2" would be correct.

No exhaust upgrade yet… It’d have to be a quiet model. But I did pick up a new cold air intake off EBay for $33 + $20S/H/I.

you’ll have to let us know how the ceramic is holding up on it.

For those looking for a 2.5 inch collector the T1R is a very good choice for those with a fairly tight budget (given the fact that 2.5 inch collector headers are already quite expensive; I believe this is the cheapest of the bunch.)

I did a write up on here already…

where is the write up?

88 is pretty cheap. i paid 75 for my used neuspeed (dc 421 ceramic clone, but with more coating inside/out). ive since had to reweld it a few times due to cracking from bottoming out (most likely).

youre not imagining the quicker revs, plus there’s a torque gain overall with intake/exhaust.

if i had to choose a header again, it would have a 2.5" collector and stronger, thicker material for those accidental bumps. that thin mild steel just doesnt cut it. or i guess if i lowered the crossmember brace thing or made a skid plate sooner i could have prevented it…

so is this megan actually a good thing with thick metal and stainless?

can anyone find a 2 1/4"-2.5" collector header fro me. i’m looking to buy, but since this is a hobby car, and I’ve only been outa cleege a year, I would like to stay in the range of the meagan header prices. any links, sites guys?

:search: for the write up.

The Megan Racing header isn’t too bad of a deal. As long as you know it isn’t a DC Sports header you’ll be fine.

You do get what you paid for. and in doing so I saved $200.

The header seems well built. Good welds with no voids, no splatter. The flanges are thick and match like OEM.

Hope this helps.
