MFR rapidly clicking and Solid CEL.

Car broke down today while driving.

So i was just driving when the Engine shutoff and the Engine light came on.

I coasted to the side of the road as it wouldnt restart while rolling.

All that i can notice at the moment is the engine wont run. The engine cranks over and while the key is on start i can hear the Main Fuel Relay Rapidly clicking on, off, on, off, on ect.
I removed the facia and checked to confirm it was the MFR making the rapid clicking noise.

Any suggestions as to what could cause this. It is an aftermarket fuel pump btw.

Re solder the contacts on the MFR and if that dont work replace it with another.

sounds like the relay is shorting out. if you have another, try it

Ok thought i would come back to let you know what it was,

Since rarely people do.

It turned out it was a blown underhood fuse and the Main Fuel Relay.

Both were replaced and everything is fine now. Been good for 6 months.
